STL Partners has a long track record in telecom industry analysis and pioneered the Telco 2.0 approach to new business model design, in recognition of the demands set by the burgeoning digital economy. Drawing on STL Partners’ strengths in industry research and analysis, the Telco 2.0 Transformation Index Report is based on our comprehensive Business Model Analysis Framework, with multi-level drill downs into each domain, providing rich data and weighted scores. The following presentation gives an overview of the methodology and approach used.
Analysis is conducted for each company against the key areas of the business model framework: Markets and Position; Service Offerings; Value Network; Technology; and Finances.
The analyses are consolidated into an overall summary of market positioning by Operating Company, which is further refined into an assessment of strategic approach and operational performance.
The Analysis Pack reports for individual telcos analyses strategic intent and performance of key propositions as shown below for Telfonica for Movistar Fusion. The following chart is extracted from Telefonica's Service Offering analysis.
The Analysis Packs also assess the operator's overall 'Telco 2.0' strategy as shown for Telefonica here (again, from the Telefonia Service Offering Pack).
The Finance section of the Analysis Packs look at various indicators of commercial health including debt and cash generation. The following example is from the Telefonica Finances analysis.
The analysis packs also come with the raw data for that operator, which includes detailed financial, market share, regulatory, and product data, as well as details of the analysis conducted in the Analysis Pack.
